Changing Colors on the Simple Theme

Our Simple Themes are basic themes that are appropriate for any store out of the box. They currently come in four colors on the BV Commerce Theme page, but you can easily choose custom theme colors in minutes.

First, select a Simple Theme. In this case, I’m starting with Simple Blue.

Choose Edit Theme. I’d suggest changing the name of your theme now to avoid confusion later. So change Simple Blue to Simple Orange and click Save Changes when you're done.

Choose Style Sheet (CSS) on the left hand navigation bar. Under Edit Theme CSS you will see that we’ve pre-labeled all of the major colors in this theme.

To change the theme colors, simply change their hex numbers in the corresponding places in the style sheet. Use an image editor like Photoshop to try out new colors until you find the ones you like.

To make this really easy you can copy the Style Sheet to a text editor and use the search function to look for each number throughout the style sheet. This will highlight each number so you can change the color. Otherwise, you can just scan through the style sheet for the numbers you need to change.

Voila! Simple Blue is now Simple Orange!
